Tableview – Bloubergstrand (Most of our lessons)

Table View’s beach is located along the seafront road. It has a numerous parking spots, which is home to local entrepreneurs selling items such as carved animals. The beach stretches both north and south, making it a common place for long jogs,walks, skateboarding and biking. On windy days the coastline comes alive with kiteboarders stretching along the coast as far as the eye can see. We meet in the parking area infront of Pakalolo beach bar. This will be the spot you will have your land based lesson and water body dragging lessons.
Bloubergstrand is known for its long white sandy beaches and its epic view of Table Mountain. It is a very popular kite surfing destination in summer, mainly for its famous strong South Easterly trade winds, known as the Cape Doctor.

Big Bay – Bloubergstrand

Bloubergstrand has a long white sand beach on the Atlantic ocean, with a few rocky outcrops where black mussels are found. The water is cold due to the cold Benguela current but the beach is popular with surfers. The bay on the west side of Bloubergstrand, known as ‘Big Bay’ has become a very popular kitesurfing spot due to the constant SE trade winds. This is where you will learn how to body drag and water start as the conditions are usually easier with smaller waves and shallow water so you can stand. Big Bay, has also become famous for hosting the world renowned kitesurfing event, Red Bull King of the air.

Shark Bay – Langebaan (Our Water Start Lessons)

Langebaan is one of the best spots to learn to kiteboard in the Western Cape. Is a beautiful warm turquoise lagoon with no sharks an no waves. It’s about an hour and a half drive north of Table View/Blouberg in Cape Town where most kitesurfers stay, so you can easily go up there for a day. It’s really peaceful, a nice quite little village.  There are two  main spots there. Langebaan Main Beach and Shark Bay. Langebaan is also a great spot for those who are uncomfortable with kiteboarding in the colder water and waves as it is easier and warmer in the lagoon. We will meet in Tableview and drive through together either in your car or with the Instructor in their car. You will be expected to pick up the petrol bill.

Sunrise Beach – Muizenberg

Sunrise Beach Muizenberg is located on the east coast of false bay with a popular 200 m sandy shoreline of the warmer Indian ocean. Muizenberg has been a popular destination for beach goers for hundreds of years. There are numerous restaurants and interesting shops in the back beach area, as well as local beach vendors who sell a variety of snacks, cold drinks, fast food and ice-creams. Surfers’ Corner, at the end of the beach, is an excellent spot for novice or beginner surfers and on windy days during the season, Sunrise beach is popular for all kiteboarding enthusiasts. We will meet at Sunrise beach parking area. This is a great spot if you don’t want to brave the colder Atlantic ocean.
